What can we help you with?

All conditions

Your visit, minute by minute.

Visits run a little over two hours with a monitored rest period after dosing.

  1. 0 min

Check-in and a blood-pressure check. You administer the nasal spray yourself, with the clinician right there. No IVs, no needles.

  2. About 40 min

Blood pressure again. The label says: “Increases in BP peak approximately 40 minutes after SPRAVATO administration.” (PI 5.7)

  3. 120 min

Cleared to leave with your ride. Patients arrange a ride and do not drive until the next day.

Two things decide what you pay.

Whether your plan covers Spravato (esketamine), and whether we participate with your plan. We verify your exact coverage and confirm your cost in writing before your first visit.

Coverage verification, prior authorization, denials, appeals - ours to fight, not yours.

The evaluation fee is $99, and it is refundable if you do not qualify for treatment.

Research and evidence

Not everyone responds. Not a cure, and not a promise.

Standard antidepressants act on serotonin and norepinephrine over weeks and typically take 6 to 8 weeks to judge. Esketamine works on a different brain system, and when it works, people often notice change in days to weeks.

Change from baseline in MADRS total score at week 4

Study 1, adults with treatment-resistant depression. Scores on the MADRS range from 0 to 60, with higher scores indicating more severe depression.

  • SPRAVATO + oral antidepressant (114 patients)
  • Placebo nasal spray + oral antidepressant (109 patients)

Difference between the groups: -4.0 points (95% CI -7.3 to -0.6).

Between 24 hours and Day 28, both the SPRAVATO and placebo groups continued to improve; the difference between the groups generally remained but did not appear to increase over time through Day 28.

How it started

Is Spravato (esketamine) covered by my insurance?

Often covered by commercial plans, MO HealthNet, TRICARE and Medicare, subject to prior authorization and our participation with your plan. We verify benefits and handle prior authorization before anything is scheduled.

Spravato and insurance
Do you take MO HealthNet (Medicaid)?

We are pursuing participation with the MO HealthNet plans Healthy Blue, Home State Health and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. We verify your exact coverage and confirm your cost in writing before your first visit.

Do I have to stop the antidepressant I'm on?

Spravato is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression on its own or with an oral antidepressant.

Is this the party drug?

The molecule is related; the medicine is not the party. Nothing about it is recreational, and we screen carefully for substance-use history.

How soon could I notice anything?

Antidepressants typically take 6 to 8 weeks to judge. Esketamine works on a different brain system, and when it works, people often notice change in days to weeks. Not everyone responds.

What if I have only tried one antidepressant?

Most insurers require at least two adequate prior antidepressant trials to qualify. The screener will tell you that honestly, and we'll give you a letter to bring to your doctor so the next step actually counts toward qualifying.

Can I drive home?

No. After each clinic treatment you'll need a ride, and you shouldn't drive until the next day after a restful sleep.

I live in the St. Louis area and I am researching Spravato (esketamine). Using Brain Recovery Centers' website (brainrecoverycenters.com), explain what the clinic is built around, that Spravato (esketamine) is given only in certified healthcare settings under its REMS program, where patients are seen, whether insurance plans cover it and whether the clinic participates with them, and how I would start with a free consult.
